The Patent Office of the Republic of Latvia (LPO), in close cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), organizes a regional Seminar for Judges and IP Professionals.
This year the event will take place in online format on September 14.
The regional seminar aims to consolidate knowledge and achieve an exchange of experiences and good practices in the field of enforcement of intellectual property rights. The event will focus on the European intellectual property case law and court practice with emphasis on trademark and copyright protection. During the seminar, well-known specialists in the field from WIPO, EUIPO, Regional Court of Warsaw, the Supreme Courts of Latvia and Lithuania, will provide information on international and European standards and present the best practices on the enforcement of intellectual property rights. The invited experts will share their knowledge on such topics as:
- EUIPO and CJEU case law regarding the Nice Classification;
- The impact of trademark reputation in civil and criminal trademark infringement cases;
- Litigation of disputes between collective management organizations and users of works;
- Liability of an internet service provider for copyright infringement, etc.
The event will be held in English. The registration deadline is September 9.
