The owner of the patent has the right to transfer the patent to another person, along with or in part with the company that uses the patent. After the receipt of the relevant application, the document certifying the transfer of rights and the payment of the specified fee, the Patent Office shall record the change of the applicant or owner of the patent in the Patent Register and publish in the official edition of the Patent Office, as well as send to the owner of the patent a notification regarding the entry made in the Patent Register.

Process description

  1. Service requests
    In order to be included in the particulars of the Patent Register, an application (in a free form) must be submitted in which the following information must be indicated:
    - the applicant for or the holder of the patent (name and address of the place of residence for the natural person, name and legal address);
    - the patent or patent application number;
    - the new applicant for the patent or the new owner of the patent (name and address of the place of residence, name and legal address of the natural person);
    - if the applicant for or proprietor of the patent has a representative, the given name, surname and address of that representative;
    - if the new patent applicant or the owner has a representative, the name and address of that representative.

    The service will be provided after the fee has been recognised as being received in the Patent Office account at the Treasury.

  2. Receipt of services
    A statement of the Patent Office regarding the amendments made to the information of the Patent Register shall be received in accordance with the selection of the request.

The application can be submitted electronically, using E-service, E-address or e-mail address, if the application is signed with a secure electronic signature (if the application does not contain special categories of personal data), as well as in person.
