In order to find information if a certain trademark is or is not protected in Latvia, one should search the first three databases below:

Please note that, according to the provisions of the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property, a trade mark filed in one Member State may be filed in another country within 6 months from the date of the first application, referring to the first filing date as the mark’s priority date. Thus, for example, a trade mark filed in Estonia in January may not appear in any databases with reference to Latvia until June, but if during the 6-month period it is filed in Latvia under national procedure or as a European Union trade mark, or internationally (with extension to Latvia), its priority date is in January, and it may turn out to be an earlier mark than your trade mark that was filed in the meantime.
