The expert commission of the Latvian Patent Office (LPO) has assessed trademarks registered with the LPOand the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in the second quarter of 2026 and has selected the next eight candidates for the “Trademark of the Year” award in two nominations: “Trademark of the Year for Latvia” and “Trademark of the Year for the European Union”.

The winners in both nominations of “Trademark of the Year 2026” will be selected from 16 trademarks registered with the LPO under the national procedure and 16 trademarks registered with the EUIPO.
The Intellectual Property Award “Trademark of the Year”, organised by the LPO, is conducted in two stages. First, experienced LPO experts select, on a quarterly basis, four trademarks for the nomination “Trademark of the Year for Latvia” and four trademarks for the nomination “Trademark of the Year for the European Union” to advance to the second stage of assessment. In the second stage, the winners are determined by a jury appointed by the LPO.
