“Bloomcabin” – a trade mark that symbolises a desire for aesthetics
SIA Biowood was founded in 2021. The company's core business is the manufacture of aluminium and glass garden houses and greenhouses. Thanks to their aesthetic design and high quality, these products have become popular with clients in Latvia and abroad.
The trademark "Bloomcabin" emerged entirely naturally. “The name simply came to us,” explains the company’s owner, Jānis Strazdiņš. “Bloomcabin” symbolises a person’s desire for aesthetics and contentment that comes from creating something by one’s own hands – whether it is grown flowers, a kitchen garden, or a beautiful place to relax.”
The trademark, which has also become a recognisable brand, embodies the idea of flourishing, naturalness and a cosy space where beauty meets practicality. In essence, the company creates aesthetic, functional and long lasting solutions for people who wish to transform their garden or outdoor area into a beautiful and practically usable environment.

With respect and care for trees – the figurative trade mark of the Latvian Arboriculture Society
The Latvian Arboriculture Society has been bringing together industry specialists in Latvia since 26 April 2008. When creating a new logo, it was decided to register it as a figurative trade mark.
The logo, which serves as a symbol of the Society's identity, originally depicted an untended tree. However, as the Society has evolved, the logo has been changed to reflect the development of the entire sector over recent years. Consequently, the new logo – and the trade mark – symbolises a well-maintained tree viewed from above, with a safe, balanced and aesthetically shaped crown.
“The development of our logo also symbolically reflects the growth of the entire sector – from an untended tree to a professionally shaped and safe crown. It is a story of knowledge, experience and a respectful attitude towards trees,” explains Uģis Šmits, Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Arboriculture Society. He adds that in its day-to-day work the Society is also actively involved in informing the public about tree care standards and the quality of the urban environment, promoting a sustainable and safe environment for both people and trees.
The Intellectual Property Award “Trademark of the Year”, organised by the LPO, is conducted in two stages. First, experienced LPO experts select, on a quarterly basis, four trade marks for the nomination “Trademark of the Year for Latvia” and four trade marks for the nomination “Trademark of the Year for the European Union” which are then put forward for assessment in the second stage.
The winners in both nominations of “Trademark of the Year 2026” will be selected from 16 trademarks registered at the LPO through the national procedure and 16 trademarks registered at the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
