Junior Achievement Latvia pasākums "CITS BAZĀRS ziemā"

On December 14, the Patent Office awarded prizes in the nomination “Knowledge-based SMU product/service” at the student enterprises’ (SMU) event “OTHER BAZAAR in Winter” organized by Junior Achievement Latvia (JA Latvia). 

The award in the primary school group went to SMU Ro-Worlds from Agenskalna State gymnasium for offering 3D visualization and video game's logo or advertising design services in a Roblox environment, while in the secondary school group – to SMU Levo&Cura from Madona State Gymnasium for offering allergen-free and easy-to-use dental care powder. 

The annual event "OTHER BAZAAR in Winter" brought together 270 SMUs, who have proven themselves as the best in Latvia. This year "OTHER BAZAAR in Winter" also took place online. For this purpose, JA Latvia created an e-catalogue where everyone can view SMU virtual stands and purchase products or services created by schoolchildren. 

On jury's work, the Patent Office was represented by Dace Liberte, who is chairperson of Industrial Property Board of Appeals. Over the course of several days, the jury evaluated SMU in nine nominations: 

  • Socially responsible SMU 

  • Technologically innovative product/ service 

  • Best SMU sales team 

  • Knowledge-based SMU product/ service 

  • Social media communication award 

  • SMU product/service ready for international business 

  • Environmentally friendly SMU product/ service 

  • SMU Business potential 

  • Best advertising video
