Taking into account the epidemiological situation caused by Covid-19 and taking care of the safety of the population, the Patent Office invites clients to primarily request remote services and to use the offered e-services, choosing face-to-face services only in case of extreme need.
We would like to remind that all types of industrial property - patents, trademarks, and designs - can quickly and easily be applied for online. Therefore, in order to reduce the spread of Covid-19, please submit applications remotely - online or signed with a secure electronic signature - via email to valde@lrpv.gov.lv, or by post to: Latvian Patent Office, Citadeles 7/70, Riga, LV-1010.

In special cases, on-site customer services (except for the services of the Patent Office Library) can be allowed by prior appointment by phone +371 67099600 or via e-mail at valde@lrpv.gov.lv; for the services of the Industrial Property Board of Appeal - by phone +371 67099637 or via e-mail at laura.klige@lrpv.gov.lv. In these cases, the client should present an interoperable certificate of vaccination or recovery. Provision of face-to-face services is allowed if the contact does not exceed 15 minutes during the receipt of the service.
On-site customer services are provided only in "green mode". This means that both Patent Office’s employees and clients can provide and receive face-to-face services only with a valid Covid-19 certificate of vaccination or recovery.
Upon arrival at the Patent Office, please be responsible and follow all epidemiological safety measures established in the country - use face masks, maintain a two-meter distance, observe hand and respiratory hygiene and other conditions for your own safety and the safety of others.
In accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 662 of 28 September 2021 on "Epidemiological Safety Measures for the Containment of the Spread of Covid-19 Infection", the onsite services of the Patent Office shall not be available to persons who:
- observe self-isolation;
- observe home quarantine or isolation;
- have sighs of a respiratory infection.
